Router mode without NAT

Fri Sep 06, 2013 7:35 pm

Dear all,

I need to setup the mikrotik router in router mode and that will forward the conection from wireless client
to a third-party hotspot server for authenication. If I enable NAT in mikrotik, the wireless clients can redirect
to third-party hotspot system login page, but if I disable NAT, cannot load the login page. I need to setup
without NAT because our hotpsot server will make its as one client(same source IP) and except first
connected machine, even there are many client connected.

How can I setup the environment in Mikrotik for my requirement? My ideal option is use router mode but not
hotspot mode in Mikrotik. Actually, I need the hotspot server can get the actual IP address through the wireless
client and not the router IP for authenication.

Thx
Rgds,
Jeffrey

The hotspot system should have a static route for the IP segment your systems are on.
I guess your hotspot system has a default gateway and since your systems are on a different segment the hotspot system sends the returning packets towards it's default gateway.
If you configure 1 static route for the IP segment your clients use, and point that towards the 'outside' address of your router, then you're good to go.
