WDS causing router to crash?

Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:58 pm

We have a RB230 on our tower (2.8.27) with a Prism AP serving maybe 20 clients. This AP also has two WDS interfaces to two other APs.

After 18 months with no problem the WDS interfaces have started disconnecting and reconnecting at random times, but the other clients are unaffected. After a series of these disconnections watchdog reboots the router.

Im tearing my hair! I have sent supout to MT but no reply. Can anyone help???

have you tried upgrading to 2.8.28?

Support will probably tell you the same thing, and then send a suppout to them. That is your best for getting to the bottom of your issure.

Sounds like hardware failure. If you know it is 18 months old, been sitting outdoors on a tower, worked satisfactory for that amount of time, with or without proper grounding and power regulation. Would it or would it not be logical to consider replacing it with a spare?
