Compact Flash on /dev/hdc

2005年太阳10月23日,12:02 pm

I am trying to install and run RouterOS on some embedded computers. The motherboards have a compact flash socket that is configured as the master drive on the secondary IDE interface. The BIOS does not provide the ability to swap primary and secondary IDE devices. The system will boot so far and then displays the following:
Code:Select all
FATAL ERROR: could not read configuration
I suspect that the kernel is having trouble loading from /dev/hdc. Has anyone done this successfully?

This question was asked in the forum more than a year ago, but no solution was posted.

please try the latest version of 2.9 and report back. if that will not work, you can try the method which should have worked since version 2.8 - install the routeros in the same configuration you will be using it, i.e., if you use it as sec. master, install it as sec. master.

Thank you for your suggestion lastguru. I had been using version 2.9.4 with no success, but 2.9.6 works a treat.
