SNMP information of IPSec tunnels

Wed Apr 07, 2010 9:53 am

Hi,

we've got a RB433 (which Will be upgraded soon to RB600 or RB1000) running ROS4.5.
This router acts as endpoint for 30 IPsec tunnels plus approx. 10 L2TP tunnels.
We monitor the router using Cacti and see certain stats but no IPSec information. Did someone make this work already, i.e. monitoring the "installedSAs" and active PPP connections?
I couldn't find this information being spit out on a snmpwalk but may be I've just jumped that information. Further, if someone has a solution for some other monitoring, e.g. Nagios or just another solution about how to monitor that informtion, I'm still keen to know.

Many thanks,
Stefan

We also have a need to monitor IPSec tunnels.

It seems with PRTG 12 and Cisco ASA you can "You see a list of all active IPsec VPN connections available on the target ASA" (http://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/sn ... fic_sensor)

Is this possible?
