802.11n upload problems, R52N and Intel 5300

Fri Oct 30, 2009 10:40 am

Hi all,

I am currently trying to connect to our MT 433AH+R52N with a laptop that has Intel 5300 802.11n card. The problem is that I can receive up to 300Mbits on the laptop but transmit on 54Mbits. The MT only sees our laptops on 802.11a at 54Mbits. We have been trying other laptops as well but the result is the same.

Have you experienced a similar problem?

Regards,
Daniel G.

The IEEE* 802.11n Draft prohibits using High Throughput with WEP or TKIP as the unicast cipher. If you use these encryption methods (e.g. WEP, WPA-TKIP), your data rate will drop to 54 Mbps. The Intel WiFi Link 5300 client drivers connect using a legacy IEEE 802.11g connection rather than failing to connect altogether, which complies with the IEEE 802.11n draft.

配置无线网络client device's profile to use Wi-Fi Protected Access* (WPA2-AES or WPA2-TKIP). You may also choose to configure an unsecured profile, but this option is NOT recommended.

I'm facing the same problem, between Intel 5100 and R52N.
Transfer between R52N->5100 reaches 300 Mbit/s, but 5100->R52N it is only 54 Mbit/s.
I tried both without encryption and using only WPA2-AES.

AP is set to 5GHz-only N, Freq. 5180 MHz, all RX/TX 0,1 chains enabled, HT Extension channel enabled above control, and also Intel 5100 settings look fine (40 MHz enabled, 802.11n enabled). Still, maximum rate from Intel 5100 is 54 Mbit/s.

Any solution for this?
