Routing question!

Sun May 25, 2008 7:16 pm

I have what I think will be a easy routing question

I have two AP’s connected to a 532a being used as a load balancer. One with an address of 192.168.200.6 and the other 192.168.200.10

The AP with the address 192.168.200.6 has two wlan cards. One of the cards services clients “10.1.3.0/24” and the other is being used as a back haul “10.2.0.0/24”.

The other AP at 192.168.200.10 has one wlan card “10.5.1.0/24” that is being used with a grid to service an area that has difficulty receiving a signal from the first AP.

The problem that I am having is that if I’m associated to the AP “192.168.200.6” none of the clients on “192.168.200.10” are accessible. And if I’m associated to the AP “192.168.200.10” none of the clients or the backhaul on “192.168.200.6” are accessible

I’m sure it’s a simple routing issue, I’m wondering how I can gain access to one network from the other without switching back and fourth. I have pored over the forum, reference manual and Wiki for days looking for a solution but am not having any luck. I hope someone can help.

You may need to enable the 'default forward' tick box under the wireless settings.

Did you add routes on both of the APs for the others' networks? like on AP .6 to the clients that are connected to the AP .10

I do have the default forward selected on all wlans so that must not be it, I'm not sure that I have the routes on both APs set correctly.

Lastguru, could you give an example? Is this something that must be setup in (routes)?, (Nat)?, (Address)?

In the AP “192.168.200.6” I have the following:

/ ip route
add dst-address=10.5.1.0/24 gateway=192.168.200.10 scope=255 \
target-scope=10 comment="Route To TinyWiFi Ap" disabled=no
add dst-address=10.6.1.0/24 gateway=192.168.200.10 scope=255 \
target-scope=10 comment="" disabled=no

I got it!

I figured it out, I added the rule correctly and it started working!

add src-address=10.5.1.0/24 dst-address=192.168.200.10/32 routing-mark=att \
interface=ether1 action=lookup table=att comment="" disabled=no
add src-address=10.6.1.0/24 dst-address=192.168.200.10/32 routing-mark=att \
interface=ether1 action=lookup table=att comment="" disabled=no
