there is more info in my other post, and I replied to your question from yesterday, but in short, as I understand it, the radio is getting a part 90 3.65ghz modular certification, which does NOT mean it is certified for use as is. before you can legally use the radio, it has to be part of a certified system (i.e. installed on a router board with appropriate software loaded), and the only way that it seems we're going to find a system certified with the XR3 is to go out and get it done ourselves
I suspect there may be a PS3 released by Ubiquiti sometime in the future that will be fully certified for use, but this is only a theory on my part and is in no way supported by any facts or information mentioned to me from any source.
If you're interrested in using the XR3's on a MT platform, let me know in the other thread and once I receive word from UBNT that they have received the modular certification I will contact everything interrested about shareing the costs for getting the unit certified. (note, it appears that we will have control of the certification information required for registering the equipment with the FCC, so not just anyone will be able to go and register a unit that we paid for the certification process, so sitting back and waiting for other people to front the bill so you can benifit will not likley be an option.)
