Due to the issues in v6.x that prevents CCR equipment to be used in medium size border operations I have seen a growing number of ISPs using CCRs, specially 1036 and 1072 as CGNAT equipment and it has been working fairly well and with good performance as long the NAT rules are currently created.
However CGNAT configuration with these equipment only work with Port Fixed model which limits the usage for many environments and one thing that lacks for larger environments isCGNAT with Bulk Port Allocationwhich is the best model of CGNAT that gives both flexibility and very reduced logging to ISPs plus contributes a lot for greater IPv4 saving, a lot more than when used with Port Fixed.
Therefore if you can please add to a short term feature request to be implemented Bulk Port Allocation for CGNAT is something very positive, mainly with the recent release of CCR-2216 would become a excellent fit for this type of usage.
To find out more about a good Bulk Port Allocation implementation look at DANOS Project (https://www.danosproject.org/) which is working very well for several ISPs that are using it. Its simple logging format allows ISPs to comply with law enforcement easily.
