Just installed a Powerbox PRO:(
Would have much rather bought a netPower 15FR.

How do you break out QSFP+ if not simply using a breakout DAC cable?

A: so you would need media converters.

I also see fibre breakout cables.

CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM
very good. I wait for 48x10GbE Base-T for iSCSI traffic.

We need LHGR + R11e-LTE6 with
  • 1GbE port - currently SXTR with bonding have 2xFE but LHGR still have a bottleneck to FE
  • 2CA for 1+3 and 1+7 and 3+7 - currently only 3+7 :(
  • LGHR with corrected 700 and 900Mhz Gain - currently works better with inverted antenna at 180°. Only 800Mhz works straight forward (and >1800Mhz).
  • Bigger DISH

Powerbox PRO has 4x PoE-out. 15FR has 15 PoE-in ports! Not quite the same!
If you need to power more then one device the Powerbox PRO can do that. If you want redundant power supply to your router from the different clients connected, the 15FR is your friend.

Can somebody tell me what market is the CAT12 LTE aiming for?
As European WISP they are little use since it's almost impossible to run a LTE network.
作为客户端设备的主要单元操作(沃达丰, Movistar, Orange etc.) is only of use if there is strong G4 (4G) signal and then you still have to deal with the data cap.

If this device would accept a fibre+Giga ethernet as WAN it would make it much more interesting since the LTE can serve as backup for those events the fixed opp goes down. With some load balancing indeed the household could get higher top speeds then what the single provider can deliver.

I am also still worried about the gain of the internal antennas. The average house has more then one floor level and several room on each. I found most indoor MT Wifi AP's are useless in such situations as stand alone wifi AP.
Working with extra repeaters or powerline solutions are too costly for the bulk of internet clients.

A CAT 12 alike device with 2-4 3-6dBi antenna would be more appropriate to serve the average house.

Many people live in small apartments.

This breaks monopolies at the 500 Mbps level.

I'm also curious about the logic behind this device. As you say, running an own LTE network is basically impossible in the developed world. Only the multi-national MNO can afford the frequencies. 4G/LTE is always with data-caps, hence often most used by non-power users. Therefore the Operators CPE/equipment is almost always used (e.g Huawei)

An SFP-port would be logical to include for those have FTTH.

It is more of a concern when you can't even reach 30 Mbps on your phone, making LTE a non-viable option.

I think the people are asking for Normis or a qualified person from MT to respond. Stop spamming responses.
I too am very curious as to how this device works - aggregates bandwidth from different LTE ISPs.
What is the range of types of signals that can be ingested (old to.........)?

The netPower literature explains everything you need to know. It is only a question of which investment makes more sense.

Nice! Finally it's here:-)

Just one wonder, why is this powered by a 650 MHz MIPSBE CPU?
Not that it's going to be used for CPU consuming task, but that looks like a step down from 800 MHz ARM in the CRS328?

The cost are 95% for bringing the cable in the ground and
Not the cable itself.
Copper to the ground is outdated like Mikrotik Wireless soulutions.
This are products that had been released 10 years ago.
Fiber Equipment is cheap know...
Could be an self do solution in small areas, like neighborhood share Internet-Connection etc
But no professional will bring copper to the ground in 2020

Think about upgrade for many existing wireless installs (both ours and competitor's). Re-use the existing copper wiring in chimneys and PoE adapters, replace radio CPEs with GPERs (or simple weatherproof RJ45 couplers if cables are short), and share one fiber (overhead line, not in the ground) or good radio (like LHG60) between many apartments. While I can understand 100Mbps PoE-in ports (power over spare pairs only, can use small sized ethernet transformers as they don't need to pass DC), I wish there was gigabit PoE-out for uplink (better yet, 12 FE ports and 4 GE ports for up to 3 more demanding customers who want >100Mbps). Right now I connect the LHG60 with S-RJ01 + RBGPOE (powered from ether15 - used for power only, no ethernet).

Surely this is funny thing to have to power48 gigabit portswithonly one China-made power supplywhich is built in (so even replace it can take time even if you have a spare one).

Please consider to imagine your audience intents before crafting new devices.

From a personal perspective, regarding CAT12, in our country, there is no data cap and the LTE speeds easily exceed 100Mbit any time of day. So I can just guess that it depends on your operator.

Who said ground? The example demonstrates high rise buildings where you want apartments to be wired to the attic of the building, where a switch is located. This setup is very common in eastern europe.

Rural areas have no cables, but there is cell service everywhere. This is good for countries with no ground infrastructure, for mountainous areas, any kind of places that are small (so LTE can easily cover).

GPEN? Are you serious?
Are you planning more advanced CCR models with powerful cores? Since any DDOS kills in an instant CCR.

I think the GPEN concept is nice. Running Cat6 to individual apartments is common and far cheaper than terminating single-mode fibre to everyone. However you most likely use optical for the building connection since the major cost is to put the cable in the ground/on poles, not the actual cable, and fiber is more future proof.

I have never liked the GPON concept with it's "optical bus" and propretary SFP modules.

Rural areas have no cables, but there is cell service everywhere. This is good for countries with no ground infrastructure, for mountainous areas, any kind of places that are small (so LTE can easily cover).
Yes, of course. But there already a billion of these kind of devices on the market, often as included free by the provider when signing up. Can't see this is a top selling product unfortunally.

This product is FOR the mobile operators. In Latvia this is what you get, when you sign up for the service. So why not other countries too. Some people maybe want a better device than what operators include now,

Just great, my first 6pcs of CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM units arrived in monday and I could not be happier, BUT what a surprice about "made in china" label :-/...
I was really (perhaps naively) thinking that Mikrotik always (and for ever) will be making everything in Latvia ...:(, It was HUGE plus for me.....

Please, at least stay SO robust and quality as today.
After working with hundreds of mikrotik devices in almost 12 years, I was really never must trash something because of quality. Even the oldiest rb133 is functional to these days.

I don't mind high price of something, but big deal for me always was and always will be is QUALITY.

So please hold up your self mikrotik.
Sorry for my poor eng.

Most European operators still have data caps and speeds nearing 100Mbit is a rare event in the countryside. Your country is a case apart, it's hardly bigger than a big town and your government is trying to lift it to become a forerunner in digital living.
Most other countries, especially those with plenty of open space rural landscapes have the typical areas that WISP work in and that buy your products. Or are you saying you only produce for your home market and take the rest as a bonus?

Well, as I wrote in another comment; Rural landscape in several European countries have coverage of G4 yes, but in general with low signal strengths and thus low speeds.
I live in a very typical region surrounded by mountains in Spain where we have all national cell operators working in a pretty occupied valley. When the first operator came with G4 some 4/5 years ago and I was one of the first with a g4 phone, yes I could see speeds of 100mbps and even above. Even in a moving car I would get 50-60Mbps downloads.
Now, 3-4 years later I rarely see more then 20Mbps and this is confirmed by many in the industry, including the technicians of those companies. And all cell ops have data caps. Even those that say they don't.....

In Spain work several hundreds up to thousands small WISPs that deploy Wifi networks to serve the hundreds of thousands that live her and find G4 a burden to work with and too expensive.
What I hear from others in France, Italy, UK and even Germany, the situation is not so much different.

So 4G is slowing down like 3G as I suspected.

This is another reason why I would not get a fixed broadband cellular subscription if there was a viable alternative.

I think that this will require a new SoC that outputs less heat. The hAP AC and cAP AC run really hot, adding more PoE circuitry will just make it worse.
