rb100 and rootenna

Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:36 pm

Hello

我正在前进rb100的因为他们re so small.
Then I found out they won't fit in a low profile rootenna because of the 2(or 3) dicky bit's on the top of the rb.

What's with that?

Whats CPE enclosures do you guys use?

Thanks

As far as I know, special integrated antenna is available for the RB112 (differetn from antenna for RB500). You can find it in 'prices' section, if you are asking about antenna for RB112.

From the specs of the 5GHz integrated antenna on MT, they seem to be the same.

Anyone using different integrated ant? Thanks.

I'm using both the 18db and 14/15db low profile rootenna's with rb112's and I'm not having any clearance issues.
I use a single brass motherboard standoff from wisp router to hold the rb112 in place. They are a close fit but I don't think they don't touch..

Could you list the model number of the one that Gerard is using and having problems with and the one that Equis says is working? i've seen 14, 15's, 18's and 19's listed on the rooteanna...

I was planning on switching over to these rootoes and order 10 today.. but if thers clearance issues I want to know which ones to avoid.

Thanks,
Michael

The roo's come in two applications (or at least most do).

I've only used the Rootenna's for 900MHz applications and the dimensions below are taken from Pacwireless data sheets for the 900MHz Rootennas. The 2.4 and 5.8 rootennas appear to have a much deeper pouch and should be able to accommodate the RB100's. Check the antenna specs on their website:http://www.pacwireless.com. The RB 100's are listed below taken fromhttp://www.routerboard.com.

Here's the dimensions of the 900MHz Rootenna Pouch in metric units (mm):

413 x 375 x 25 (L x W x H)

Here are the dimensions of the Routerboard 100 series in metric units (mm):

140 x 85 x 29.1 (L x W x H)

It's already too high and that doesn't even include the backing plate and standoffs.

I've been told by an engineer at pacwireless that they're working on a version with a deeper pouch for the 900MHz gear, hopefully it will be out before years end.

After glancing at the specs for the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz it would appear they can accommodate the RB100 boards just fine. Their pouches are deeper than the 900MHz version. Check the dimensions and do the math prior to purchasing.

Make sure you factor in stand offs, backing plates, and antenna connectors. When using these antenna's you'd be better off to go with U.fl as the MMCX connectors are much bigger.

If you're using 900MHz gear call into pacwireless and tell them to get their *** in gear and get the deeper pouches for 900MHz roo's. These antennas work very well, but the RB100's don't fit!!
