Any chance the CRS317 will support MC-LAG / 802.1aq or similar, along with the rest of the CRS line?

You are not limited to 90cm, you can use bigger dishes too

LDF5 is a nice idea, of course you need to be aware that modification of the dish mounting is required because
the mounting is designed for offset usage pointing at a satellite like 30 degrees above the horizon. The dish
必须倾斜向下,可能更多吗n the mount allows by default, or the whole thing needs to be
rotated 90 degrees sideways (e.g. attached to a horizontal bar of a balcony).

In Greece we use in AWMN (Athens Wireless Metropolitan Network) aluminium Satellite Dishes of Gibertini like this
http://www.cosmomarket.gr/incl/5large.php?item_id=51260
They have longer base that allows to tilt downwards more degrees than the most satellite dishes.

Are you saying that a 90cm satellite dish with this feeder/ap will provide the same gain as a mant30 which is only around 60cm?
If so is this because of quality and design characteristics of a purpose-built 5ghz wifi antenna/feeder system such as the mant30 that provides the extra gain?

I really like the new products but can i replace a power supply on the CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+?
Why are the power supplies without fans? This is the reason most power supplies die in CCR series...
In regards to CRS317, is LACP support going to be implemented on hardware level?
This is really interesting!
Also what's the used CPU in CRS317? Only Wirespeed L2 or also L3?

I did not say that, I am saying that the dish can be any size. It is pretty hard to measure exact dBi with a random dish, the newsletter only gives examples, not limitations

It's nice that the OmniTik is updated, but I'm still waiting for the 2.4GHz model with POE-out so I can service local trailer parks and outdoor hotspots with a single power cable on a post. 5GHz OmniTik is fine for a neighborhood tower when individual CPEs are involved, but to serve individual PCs, tablets, and phones (especially older and cheaper ones) 5GHz doesn't fill the bill. BaseBox doesn't do the job because it has only one port and no POE out to drive link radios.

No. But running dual boot with very different OS is not easy, so it will only be made for newer hardware. It does not mean that SwOS will not be made for older devices. I was only talking about dual boot.

No, switch means that only one is active at the time, you must select which physical port you will use. Other will be inactive

very good news on the new CRS,
i think to that we need POE (active/passive) out on all switch port since all wireless device that MK sell have suport for POE in
an also it wold be very nice that even the crs 8-24 port have a dual power supply since they are external it could be similar on the RB405G that have 2 dc jack it can be a differential.

Not only one distributor.
Exactly!! So you need to direct your questions to source of information - those distributors. Why ask here? When MT will be ready to announce something publicly, you will get new newsletter. Maybe MT is building stock, or ensures that product is shipped to all around the world to all distributors before announcement, etc.
Did you annoy Apple the same way about IPhone 7?
You will not get any answer to those questions before everyone else, it simply wouldn't be fare. So -if i were you i would clean up this topic of irrelevant to this newsletter posts and links myself.

Because this is user forum. This is place for asking. Distributors don´t know this information.
CRS317 is planned for Q2/2017 and also is there a lot information about this product. That is why I am asking for DISC Lite5.

Am I the only one that wants this 16 port 10 gig switch + the TILE-Gx 36 core chip?
Just attach the switch chip links straight to the TILE-Gx chip...or something similar...
Kind of a middle of the road router and switch. Able to utilize all 36 (or 16, or 9) cores and also able to run as a switch. Basically make all of the interfaces be in one large switch chip that also can connect to the TILE-Gx.

You can check that by setting the "all ports switched" checkmark in the switch chip config and see if it sticks.
On some router models it does, on most it doesn't.

The new CRS with 16 10G will be a very nice start if price/features equals upp.
I would then say that this begins the CRS Family. Now we can go forward and do QSFP, QSFP28 (40G (4*10), 100G,50G,25G (4*25G,2*50G))
Moving up in the industry redundant hot swappable PSU and Fans with reversible airflow become a necessity

Personally I don't se the benefit of coper ports. The benefit of sfp ports is that it should be cheaper to manufacture because no interface needs to be attached. Then you choose what you want and the sum should be around buying with ports from start.
I'm not naive manufactures are often pricing, without ports sfp units, higher for some strange reason (and customers are buying that for yet another strange reason.)
One Cool effect with mikrotiks X port is that it can hardware switch on failure but then I would like to do that on two fibers or two coppers (can do that but you get the point) not one of each the X with MT choosing one interface and letting me choose the other one is not as good as if there where two sfp ports for one X connection.
But thats just my opinion...

I am confused about that as well... Buying a device with 12-24 SFP ports and then plugging in many copper SFPs to use it with copper ethernet
for sure will be more expensive than having a dedicated copper port device with a couple of SFP for the fiber connections if required.
Sure it is more modular, and it may be easier for the manufacturer. (no separate models with different mixes of copper/SFP)

... Will you also start offering your own 10GBASE-T SFP+ module to support Cat-6a copper runs? Cheapest 10GBASE-T module I've found is about $370, with many wanting $500+.
The ones I found were limited to 30m length, apparently 10GBase-T requires 4-8W of power which SFP+ can't provide.
Maybe a combination of fiber for longer runs + dac/twinax would work for you, apparently twinax goes up to 10m.

Hi there,
we're very waiting for a new version of the powerbox with Gigabit Ports and maybe 3 or 5 additional ethernet ports. It's very confusing that you offer high data rate wireless devices with GBit connector (Basebox, QRT for example), but most of the routers have only fast ethernet ports (100mbit). For example AC devices have more than 100mbit real data throughput. Anyway, are there any plans for a PowerBox upgrade? Probably like the new OmniTIK 5 PoE ac, but without wireless device.
We are mostly using central routers with connected PtP and user access devices. The best and cheapest solution is to mount it all outside. So you need only one LAN Cable into the building which is powering the central router.
Thanks in advance.
Attila

The gigabit router with PoE output is named "hEX PoE".
Maybe a bit confusing when you are looking for a "Powerbox G" or similar, but it appears to be the new naming convention for routers.

Yes i know that. But I need it outdoor. Powerbox is for outdoor usage. Hex is desktop indoor router.

Ok I understand... maybe you can make an outdoor housing. But indeed it would be convenient when it comes in a ready outdoor housing.
(although in our climate, such flimsy devices often have moisture problems anyway and we use larger outdoor cabinets to install them)
Are you using it on HAMNET? 73!

Fantastic news about the CRS SFP+ - any news about power for this device? Any chance of having dual power supplies?
Also great news about the CCR1009
Well done
As you can see, there are two power LEDs

It will not be cheaper. An inexpensive gigabit SFP costs 30 bucks.
I'm pretty sure very few people are going to be using copper with these. Which then makes sense with different types of fiber sfp options.

If it's all SFP+ of course, because it would not be economical. That's the point.

Now there needs to be something like a CRS317-1G-10X-6S+IN ac.
Maybe better CRS317-1G-12X-4S+IN ac.
More interesting idea: CRS317-11G-4X-2S+IN ac

Maybe the chip would even support CRS317-41G-4X-2S+RM

I was kind of getting at why buy a device at this and shove copper in it. Doesn't make sense.

Very cool!
Any chance the CRS317 will support MC-LAG / 802.1aq or similar, along with the rest of the CRS line?
+1 for MC-LAG / 802.1aq or similar

will be happy if future hardware
we can have
may be one day mikrotik can produce
cpe with 2 wlan or more wlan cards and same on base station side too
advantages as under:-
bonding to increase speed
may b fail over 2 different base stations or more
different frequency
different channels like 10/20/30/40
and more possibilities are there

In the rack it's much cheaper to use copper sfp+ from the switch to the server ports and it works well for 10Gbit. No need to put light into the ports if the servers are 1 meter away. In the same switch then ofcourse fiber sfp+ from installed fiber lines to other buildings or to workstations 30 m away.

- new CRS317 with 16 x SFP+ ports, coming Q2/17
This completes CRS family
I can see this being used in my core networks and data centres. If you can get over 100GB total throughput this could be a amazing price. Anyone seen a price for this?
Distributors have the sales info, the suggested price is $399 and yes, it can forward 160Gb/s wire speed.
Search google for the part number and you can find that some distributors have it on their web page, if not, ask them.
