Is there already any news on the availability of the 60Ghz devices?
I have seen it working fine in the MUM Milan in March/April.
We have usage for such devices. I believe they can give high capacity backhaul up to 150mtrs.
We already use other 60Ghz solution much to our satisfaction. We have links of 350 and 450 meters running full Gb capacity (aggregated) with 0-1ms latency. Hope Mikrotik can achieve the same.
And if the price is like we are used to with Mikrotik, it can be a very interesting product.
At the Mum there was also words about 60Ghz in a LHG form format. To get the higher gain needed to bridge some bigger distances. The other solution works with either 36 or even 42dBi antenna.
14dBm outpur radio. How much is the Mikrotik solution?
The info for MUM Milan was "Finally some great news on wireless from Mikrotik!" but to be honest 60Ghz solution could be something "great" but so far I am quite dissapointed..... The other small wifi stuff can hardly be called "great news" and is more for niche markets.
We WISPs are waiting for solutions to upgrade our networks. wave2ac, higher capacity AP's and other frequencies like 60Ghz, 24Ghz, 11Ghz etc. Only a glimps on 60Ghz that is still not available can hardly be called "great". (Bwah, I hear this word "Great" to often anyway nowadays... a lot of humbug if you'd ask me.
