Thank you very much for the report. We will try to fix both of them.
Both problems are actual for Dude intstalled on RouterBOARD.
Don't hold your breath, v4b3 was released in March 2011 and hasn't been updated since, as I said >1 year despite all of the various bugs and issues it has (e.g. not working on PPC).Answer for my last bug report in dude 4.0 beta3 on RB433UAH - 26-04-2012.Thank you very much for the report. We will try to fix both of them.

It is working for us. So why change a running system.I concur, at least let us know.. I was at a Mikrotik Training and about 30% of us used Dude but were all wanting to know whether to keep using or change..
Q3 - July, August, September. We plan to make a new Dude release at end of Q3
We plan to make a new Dude release at end of Q3, we plan to fix the known issues and introduce some new features. The Dude is alive.
normis,你有什么计划来分享beta版本public testing ?We plan to make a new Dude release at end of Q3, we plan to fix the known issues and introduce some new features. The Dude is alive.

Could you just hire a new programmer for the Dude only?I'm sorry but there are no news about the Dude now. We are overloaded with new product support, and we don't have a dedicated Dude programmer at the moment. We have not forgotten about the Dude, and a new version is still planned someday.
I've read this last night and still can't believe that this said above is THE reason why something as awesome as The Dude is isn't making any progress for the last 2 years.I'm sorry but there are no news about the Dude now. You see that they are short on manpower when you look at nv2. How long it took to work and how long it takes to make progress. And nv2 is a key component of their wireless systems. Dude is for free.I've read this last night and still can't believe that this said above is THE reason why something as awesome as The Dude is isn't making any progress for the last 2 years.I'm sorry but there are no news about the Dude now. Ha! Your dreaming. This is the same company that doesn't offered paid support at all and refers you to consultants just in the dark about issues as you are.We would pitch in for a fund to progress Dude Development. Could we get a guarantee of development at a certain level of funding? We would be willing to run the fund as well. Any thoughts Normis?
I suppose that may be Mikrotik lost the sources or some another unwanted obstacles had happen...Everybody is waiting for a new update. I cant belive that company like a mikrotik, cannot support that unique software. But it is fact past 3 years. Let make it open source and community will upgrade it for free...
Normis, more information, please. Not so fast. Some new hope did appear during the MUM.
I would like to see something fruitful to this statement as we all know well that Users have been requesting and complaining for over a year. Why does it take a face to face MUM for something to happen. Not so fast. Some new hope did appear during the MUM.
Already done. We are considering all options. Why not opensource The Dude and github it? Looks like MT team has simply no time to manage this free tool. It's not bad if they focus on getting more hardware and bugs squashed in new ROS versions. Opensourcing it should do the job. Could someone from MT team (Normis, Sergejs, anyone else) present such idea to rest of MT team on some sort of meeting and discuss it?

Already presented? What was decided? Nothing? OPENSOURCE the thing already. On things I would love to do is make it work with other databases (SQL Server and mySQL). That, by itself, would open up a lot of add-ons.Already done. We are considering all options. Why not opensource The Dude and github it? Looks like MT team has simply no time to manage this free tool. +1, I agree with this, it give an incentive to develop The DudeWhat about an open source "lite" version for Linux/Windows and a "supported" pro version to make money?
Public development, control of what goes into the code stays with Mikrotik.
It works for a lot of open source projects. Red Hat Linux is a good example, also Asterisk by Digium...
Why not?i dont' think so
Mikrotik too change their decisions from time to time, and we rarely know before they announce a product. Many people have offered Mikrotik money for The Dude as a supported products they provide. They declined. The Dude has and always will be an unsupported product from Mikrotik.
If you need a proper NMS you should look elsewhere.
The last time The Dude was updated (which is still a beta release) was over 2 years ago.
Did you look at NetXMS? In which regards did it not meet your needs?我是having my own custom NMS developed as the ones available currnently dont meet my needs.
Thanks Jarda. It´s our last hope... Please, help spread it on social media.I have signed the petition even I do not think it could be better way than this forum.

Sorry. I am not using "social" media at all. They are too dangerous and my privacy is very precious for me. I am not willing to disclose my personal life to everyone or start to be a subject of business. Thanks Jarda. It´s our last hope... Please, help spread it on social media.
