Using is at a switch?

Fri Aug 07, 2009 7:13 pm

What routerboard has the most amount of ethernet ports? I'm thinking of using a mikrotik basically as a bridge but with a firewall turned on so I can QOS and shape how much each port can use for each one of my servers etc. But it would be a switch basically. I need over 9 ports!

I would not recommend anything 100Mbit for server use. Only 1G + - much lower latencies. Use two or three RB450G if you have to.
