IPv6 Deployment

I am in the process of deploying IPv6 and i have met countless challenges that this Forum has assisted very much in getting around This is a very much open ended IPv6 related post and i do apologize for this, i will try and start opening new posts wherever i can. To give you a bit of background i wo...

Re: Multiple BGP sessions to one provider

I don't think it would be that much of a problem to run IPv4 in an instance and IPv6 in a different instance, since the two routing tables have nothing to do with each other anyway. The problem with using different instances for different eBGP peers in the same protocol is that BGP won't be able to...

Re: Multiple BGP sessions to one provider

Multiple peers to the same remote ASN shouldn't give any problems like this. Did you configure this as a second BGP instance? If so, then you shouldn't do it that way, it should just be two peers for the same local BGP instance. Another thing it could be.... Are your sessions using eBGP multihop, o...

Re: VRF Issues in RouterOS

You could also use the IP Route Rules option to tell the route to look up the destination in another routing table. This saves you from having to use the firewall mangle rules. Example: /ip route rule add dst-address=10.188.120.2/32 table=DN42 Ahh nice, hadn't thought of that, but i'm curious, what...

Re: VRF Issues in RouterOS

The router pretty much uses the main table for anything it generates from the control plane, regardless of vrf. It would be nice to place the entire control plane into a VRF, but that's just not doable with ROS. (I wonder if a list of routing rules could be used to work around the issue - never tri...

Re: Create BGP Peer within VRF

Hi nz_monkey, I noticed a very common issue while doing this and managed to hack my way out of it although doesn't feel ideal. The syn packet is received in the VRF but the response was being sent via the main routing table for some reason and not using the VRF which has the directly connected inter...

Create BGP Peer within VRF

Hi there, Is it possible to run bgp within a VRF similar to what you would see in a cisco with the address-family ipv4 If you have tried this before or have any pointers or information on whether or not this will work let me know. From what i have tried, even after setting the routing table for the ...

Re: How OSPF route outbound traffic ?

I could be dead wrong in my understanding of your question so my answer might be irrelevant. From what you noted, you are redistributing the default route in your OSPF network but you now want to give other clients a different default route. From the top of my head, place the other clients in a diff...

VRF Issues in RouterOS

Have any of you ever had issues with RouterOS looking in the main routing table for entries that are in a VRF? e.g. After creating a bgp instance and specifying the routing table to use and also having the interface in a VRF, when i try to bring up the peer, it gets stuck on connect. Logs reveal &qu...

HA Cloud Core cluster

If it possible to have clustered CCR's for high availability. I have one CCR in a DC bgp peering with multiple providers and clients connecting through this CCR I also have qinq configured on some of the interfaces. Is it possible to add another CCR into the setup for HA in case one device fails the...
