Re: Port scanner filling up connection tracking

You run BGP and don't understand how stateful / stateless firewalls work? I second the suggestion to get a consultant (though not the one above that is also a useless blacklist). You're clearly in over your head here. Using PSD just opens you to further attack when someone decides to spoof the IP o...

Re: Port scanner filling up connection tracking

DIsabling connection tracking as such cannot break BGP. What breaks it is the fact that with connection tracking disabled, the action=accept connection-state=established,related stops working, hence the incoming BGP traffic is dropped by further firewall rules. When connection tracking was disabled...

If only the drop rule is in raw the port scanner still fills up the connection tracking within about a minute, 1 million + connections.

Disabling connection tracking breaks BGP.

The list rules between filter and raw were identical, grabbing port scanners. They created a list called PSD and dropped the traffic. When I enabled the raw drop rule traffic dropped from 1Gbps to 200Mbps. I changed the tag to PSD2 and it seems to be working but if I disable the black hole routes fo...

Re: Port scanner filling up connection tracking

Okay, now I can catch the traffic but when I enable the drop rule on Raw it drops way too much legit traffic.

If I don't use the drop rule then they still overwhelm the router even with the Filter drop rule in place.

The only thing that works so far is to blackhole the IPs.

LHG 52 AC Netinstall problems?

I've got an LHG 52 AC that won't Netinstall.

It's running 6.44.1, tried Netinstall 6.44.5 and 6.47.7 and neither will pick it up.

I just finished installing several SXT Lite, LHG 5 and SXTsq Lite so the machine is working fine.

LHG 52 AC will not boot from Ethernet.

What's the catch?

UNII 1 is outdoor in the US as well. That's why I'm confused. Initially it was indoor only, they changed that in 2012 or so, changed 3 or 4 times since in how we're allowed to use it.

There are regulations, obviously, but it's available to use outdoors.

MIMO improves both range and speed simultaneously, but it uses both chains reading the same signal, more or less, to do the job. Physical separation is required to a degree, but blocking the antennas from receiving the same signals is going to break the signal reconstruction. You're not going to be ...

Find any of the new MT hardware in there.

Quick and dirty copy, paste and edit of my PCQ. This should limit each connection to 5M, though each client can still have multiple connections. It is hard to deal with dynamic like that. I've noticed issues of WDS enabled on ptmp, but not really on ptp.

That being said, WDS is only suppose to halve your bandwidth on a repeater, not a bridge.

I use WDS on my AP to serve a public IP to customers that need it, so they're bridged rather than NAT. I only have one or two per tower.

As Ste says, it is suppose to be a feature of 802.11ac.

It is related to the backwards compatibility as well. Depending on load and client capability it *should* be able to dynamically go between 20MHz to 160MHz wide channels.

The question is really does it work in practice as well as theory.

I tried reinstalling 5.25, no change.

I downgraded to 5.24, corrected the problem, had a power issue when going back to 5.25 and bricked the board.

I've got a replacement board, I'll try a netinstall next week when my climber gets back.

ERROR: bad CRC for nova/bin/vm

I've submitted supout.rif to MT support, just checking with the forum to see if anyone has run into this and how to correct it.
