Yeah we use Juniper mx40 for the edge and BNG exclusively and lots of 1036 for BRAS and 317 as L2 switch:)

Normally when that happen check for the DNS setting you setup for the hotspot, without proper dns settings it won't work just my 0.2$

You can try vyos or accel-ppp if you are having problems with Mikrotik PPPoE implementation, PPPoE is single thread in linux and among bsd

We are tempted to do this, but got discourage because MSTP is not supported in MLAG assuming this works in RSTP it's a waste if one interface is alternate port:)and MSTP is the way to go for us

No, it needs to be specified that particular config is for non-AX devices. And then a note indicating order of interfaces is swapped for AX. Or the other way around. But not simply change because then it will be wrong for AC3, Audience, ... Still puzzles me why they changed that order. Much easier ...

this is not related to Mikrotik per se and usually audio issue means NAT traversal issue could be in-play, there's a lot of variable here you can start on hunting the issue the way that particular local is configured if they are configured behind a NAT or not in mind

two things ensure you have NAT/Masquerade rule for 192.168.88.0/24 going to WAN and your host 192.168.88.2 its next-hop / default gateway is your mikrotik router

i have much higher success rate of doing netinstall in linux rather than windows 10 or 11, even though i have only 1 interface enable on this environment, if you see in the commandline sendfile you can safely release the button and rest assured netinstall will do its thing from formatting the device...

If the command does not exist today in v7 they should reflect that in the document, i just assume it was supported because that is the same reference guide you need to work with v7, this is another area needs to be improved and fixed in v7 aside from the never ending saga of ros v7 BGP implementation

After experimenting with this I set the MTU to 1492 less than with 1500 on the MTU of the bridge and i was able to create the interface

Management Interface on VLAN aware Bridge + bonding interface as tagged port

Hi,

Good day anyone can lay a hand as to why I can't create a management interface on a VLAN aware bridge if the port member of the bridge is a bonded interface and will be used as a tagged port.

how many routing entries do you have in the routing table? i think if you are only receiving default route from a peer this is not much of an issue remember the cpu in that gear is very weak so to speak

test carefully your use case before jumping on the gun, if the device is ROS v7 only therefore you can't downgrade to v6 MT has great potential in general but also have a shortcomings, our millage may vary that's why my advice personally is test it carefully before you decide to migrate

if you don't have your own IP block or address from RIR you don't need BGP, I humbly suggest you go back to network academy or have someone mentor you on strengthening your networking skills, just my 0.2$, if you are a startup ISP you don't need dynamic routing in most cases.

Yes that what they say they were able to reproduce the issue, the sad part is there's no commitment time for the said fix, since we do have a workaround i think for now it's better than nothing, at least this was queued on their list.

best you should trust your consultant if you can't do it by yourself, we have multi gigs of internet terminated on CCR1036 (main router), our bras (pppoe-server) is separate from our main router doing nat, CCR is a great platform but still can fail if your network design is not sound.

This really depends on the setup, if your LHGG in passthrough mode you can activate ROMON on hex and LHGG then connect to LHGG via romon, if your hex next-hop/gateway/default-route is your LHGG and LHGG is reachable via IP then you can connect it using winbox directly

try netinstall to update a device i suspect it's brick due to previous attempt to update firmware, just disable all network interface in your computer except the LAN Ethernet before running netinstall the wiki is very clear on this try that and netinstall will work for you!
