Re: v7.9 [stable] is released!

Being a person that uses the webfig much more than winbox, this change:
Why? Genuinely curious as to why anyone would use WebFig over Winbox if they have the option to use Winbox.
Winbox needs to be installed, WebFig is available using pre-installed browser. So why even bother with Winbox ?

Small ARM/ARM6464-based MT-device and then a ZeroTier "OOB" network ? No hassle with launching VPN's etc. Its always "connected" via the cloud-switch. (zerotier) zerotier is a very good idea !!! Thanks you ! About Hardware: do you have any advice ? would this device fit ? https:...

OOB Access to remote infrastructure

Hi, I'd like to install an OOB emergency 3/4/5G access to a remote site. Remote infra is powered by an RB4011 and a CRS328-24G-4S+ I need to securely be able to connect to the infra in case main internet access is down. So basic requirements * 4/5G modem * VPN server I can contact from "outside...

On my opnsense installs, I often create mutliple servers with different sets of allowed inside network ( sysadmin vpn with full access, user server with restricted, guest server with even more restricted)

Re: v7.1rc3 adds Docker (TM) compatible container support

Routeros is a picky community. ;-) Computers are picky things. Those of us who've learned to become facile with them learn not to use the wrong terminology and to jump on instances of it where we see it elsewhere as a sign of either sloppy or outright incorrect thinking. When you're asking for help...

Re: v7.1rc3 adds Docker (TM) compatible container support

When you say USB and mount together, you imply block devices and file systems. HID devices are neither. You can’t “mount” a keyboard in Linux. As to your actual question, you might be able to do an mknod(8) call and map the dev node in that way. It depends in part on whether the SYS_MKNOD capabilit...

Is it possible to "mount" usb devices in a container ?

Did you eventryto read the docs? Thin as they currently are, they do cover this.
Did you ever TRY to read my message ? I'm searching for HID devices like UPS or even usb/serial devices, not STORAGE devices.

Seems like it's impossible to set permissions on mounted files from inside container. For example chmod +x some script, but it's still not executable. So no scripts in a mounted directory can work. It is something special for just IPsec then and not applicable to other offloading mechanisms? Hardware accelerated bridging means that a switch chip forwards the frames directly, without the CPU even knowing about their existence. There are typically no switch chips on the hosts where CHRs are run...

Actually don't bother setting the prefix length and prefix hint, DHCP server on opensense will delegate /60 prefix if you configured it as such.
