Re: some quick comments on configuring cake

DOCSIS/cable**: "overhead 18 mpu 88" Note: The real per-packet/per-slot overhead on a DOCSIS link is considerably higher, but the DOCSIS standard mandates that user access rates are shapes as if they had 18 bytes of per-packet overhead, so for us that is the relevant value. Could you expl...

Re: fq_codel or cake in v7

It's just Mikrotik not willing to implement modern queuing techniques on ROS, here's an speedtest of my hAP AC2 running piece of CAKE on OpenWRT firmware it just got rid of bufferbloat in a few clicks http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/65345812.png PD: I have 75/75mbps fiber but I limited it to 72...

Re: Using RouterOS to QoS your network - 2020 Edition

TCP uses a three-way handshake to establish a reliable connection, why prioritize the ack traffic only?? We aren't trying to prioritize the handshake. The handshake is only 3 small packets to establish the TCP connection. Once you establish the connection and then start downloading at full speed, y...

Re: Using RouterOS to QoS your network - 2020 Edition

我做了一些测试服务器。四个cases considered: baseline, QOS2020, QOS2020-Optimised (my recommended changes), mikroCAKE (pseudo-CAKE implementation). Graphs of the bandwidth vs latency, and a latency distribution plot. All tests were Perth to Sydney, 30 seconds of baseline eith...
